Editor's Note: The following is a letter from Doug about his deployment to Iraq. We all miss Doug and please join us in extending your thoughts and prayers to Doug and his family.
Clients, Colleagues and Friends:
You may know that my first career, prior to becoming an attorney, was with the military. Shortly after graduating high school I enlisted in the Army and after four years of active duty I joined the Washington Army National Guard. I was commissioned after graduating law school and am presently assigned as the Brigade Judge Advocate for the 81st Heavy Brigade Combat Team.
As I write this message I am in my final hours at Ft. McCoy, WI, preparing for deployment to Iraq. By time you read this message I will have left Ft. McCoy, traveled through Kuwait and finally to an operating base in Iraq where I will spend the next ten months before I return home in August 2009.
With my deployment I have transferred most of my responsibilities at Lineberry Kenney, PLLC to my partner, John Kenney, our associates, Tiffany Schaak and Matthew Holyoak, and my office manager, Jacque Robinson. While we took significant steps to prepare for this transition, there have been a few bumps in the road. I regret any inconvenience that you may have encountered, but please rest assured that all of us are doing everything we can to continue to provide top tier legal services to our clients. I am confident in our team and feel comfortable leaving matters in their very capable hands.
I tried to contact many of you before I departed Washington and regret that I could not deliver this news to each of you personally.
